TRIPOLI, Dec 13th, 2009: The UAE is taking part in the first edition of the Conference on Mental Disability, organized by the Arab Association for Mental Disability.
The conference, which starts today, was opened today in presence of Sheikha Jameela Bint Mohammed Al-Qassimi, the honorary head of the Association and chairman of the Sharjah City for Humanitarian Services.
The event is held under the patronage of Libya’s Dr. Aisha Muammar Al-Ghaddafi, Secretary-General of Watassemo Charity ?Association and United Nations Development Program National ?Goodwill Ambassador for Libya. ? The 3-day conference is held on the Arab Day for People of Special Needs, on which the UN-designated International Day of Persons with Disabilities is also marked.
