MORE than 2,000 Bapco employees, contractors and their family members yesterday took part in a Family Walk in Awali.
The event was part of a company-wide campaign to encourage employees to walk more as part of a healthier lifestyle, said organisers.
Other health issues such as blood pressure and diabetes, as well as safety and environmental concerns, were also addressed.
All participants received free shirts, caps and refreshments at the walk, which took place in and around Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka Park.
The walk serves as a warm-up event to Bapco’s Environment, Health and Safety Week, from November 21 to 27.
Activities during the week will include on-the-job competitions and presentations as well as a family day at Bahrain International Circuit.
The event was attended by Bapco chief executive Faisal Al Mahroos, who said such activities were part of a sustained effort to help employees and their families achieve a healthy lifestyle.
