ACP branch to be set up in Kingdom

The American College of Physicians – Internal Medicine headquartered in Philadelphia has given the go-ahead for a branch to be set up in the Kingdom. It has appointed Dr. Khaled Abdul Hameed Ghushmagh as governor and representative of the college.

It is the first branch of the college in an Arab country in the Middle East.
Ghushmagh said the establishment of the branch will offer a unique opportunity for doctors in the Kingdom to benefit from the expertise of the prestigious college in the area of internal medicine and help to upgrade their standard and performance in the field.

He said doctors will benefit extensively from enrolling in the internal medicine fellowship program, adding that the college is working in coordination with the Saudi Health Specialties Council.

Ghushmagh said the college has endorsed the establishment of branches in Latin America and Japan.The college is the largest international organization for internal medicine doctors in the world with more than 130,000 members.
