By incorporating Capsule’s Enterprise Device Connectivity Solution, featuring DataCaptor software and the Capsule Neuron platform, GE can automate collection of electronic data from validated medical devices into GE Centricity information systems. The Capsule technology also will enable GE Centricity systems to distribute data across the continuum of care to help organizations, according to Capsule, based in Andover, Mass.
Capsule said its Enterprise Device Connectivity Solution integrates with existing or planned caregiver work processes. The Capsule Neuron, a touch-screen device connectivity manager, is equipped with a docking station that provides a universal view and status of connectivity for devices connected to a patient, including locally connected devices and those that are networked via the hospitals’ wired or wireless LAN.
