With the HIS and the EHR system being run on the MPLS cloud, new hospitals that Max launches will be able to roll them out by just hooking up to the cloud, says Sonal Shukla.
Max Healthcare is a major healthcare services provider with eight hospitals spanning over 30 medical disciplines in the National Capital Region, Delhi. With over 1,500 leading doctors, 280 corporate clients and a patient base in excess of 800,000, Max Healthcare today has revenue of over $94 million.
To meet their increasing healthcare business need Max Healthcare wanted a state-of-the-art, cost-effective, robust network solution with redundancy to increase uptime. The hospital chose Multi-Protocol Label Switching (MPLS) cloud, a modern technological solution which can accomplish their long-term vision.
In September 2009, Max Healthcare and Perot Systems entered into a 10-year agreement valued at $20 million (over INR 90 crore) for infrastructure management and Electronic Health Record (EHR) implementation. In October 2009, Perot Systems was acquired by Dell to form the Dell Services Business Unit. Dell Services is a global provider of information technology services and business solutions.
Dell Services has now completed the migration of the information technology infrastructure for the eight Max Healthcare hospitals to the Dell Services Data Center in Noida. Max Healthcare’s Health Information System (HIS), which forms its business backbone, as well as all other software applications are now operating on a private cloud.
