The Dubai Health Authority (DHA) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) today with the Ministry of Health and Welfare of the Republic of Korea to strengthen bilateral cooperation in the field of healthcare.
Qadhi Saeed Al Murooshid, Director General of the DHA and Chin Soo-hee, Minister of Health and Welfare for the Republic of Korea signed the MoU at the DHA headquarters.
Al Murooshid said: “Promoting global collaborations in healthcare is one of the top priorities of the DHA and this MoU is a reflection of our commitment in this regard. The MoU will enhance collaboration, cooperation and partnership in a wide array of emerging healthcare fields from health policy to development of biotechnology and will promote exchange of knowledge and information between the two countries in the field of healthcare”.
He added that promotion of international collaborations in the field of health and healthcare as well as providing investment opportunities for internationally renowned healthcare organizations to expand their operations in the Emirate of Dubai is in line with the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.
Chin Soo-hee, Minister of Health and Welfare for the Republic of Korea also highlighted the importance of the MoU to promote cooperation between the two countries in the healthcare sector.
She was accompanied by senior ministers from the Korean Health Ministry including Kim Won-Jong, Assistant Minister of Health Policy.
The MoU will foster an environment for knowledge and skills transfer as it allows both parties to exchange knowledge and information on priority healthcare issues, promotes international collaboration and encourages delegates, professionals and experts in the medical field to share their experience and expertise.
The MoU also promotes training of personnel in the field of medical and pharmaceutical science and technology.
Furthermore, the MoU will allow both parties to share, upon request, legislation regulating activities in the field of healthcare as well as information and experience in the field of medical science, new technology etc.
From the DHA, the signing ceremony was attended by Khalid Sheikh Al Mubarak, Deputy Director General of the DHA, Dr Mohammad Al Olama, CEO of Hospital Services Sector, Tony Batour Elzoghbi, Director of Governance and Internal Audit and other officials.
