The 1st Gynaecology and Obstetrics Conference was organised here yesterday by the Medical Services Department in Al Buraimi under the patronage of Dr Mohammed bin Saif al Hosni, Under-Secretary of Ministry of Health for Health Affairs.
Attendees were members of Majlis Ash’shura and doctors. Nassir bin Saif al Busaidy, director of health services, said infertility was among the most important problems facing men and women in the past but it is no longer so with the fast changes in medical technology.
The conference organisers aim to offer a forum for learning about latest treatment innovations, help improve services to patients and exchange experiences on the illness.
The conferees discussed best methods of infertility treatment, relevant practical skills, challenges to use of endoscopes in gynaecology and obstetrics and ultrasounds in treating infertility.
Eight papers were delivered by local and visiting specialists.
