The First UAE Psychiatric Health Conference recommended merging the psychiatric health within the primary healthcare services and training all the employees of the primary health care departments on psychiatric health programs.
Dr. Muna al Kuwari, Director of Primary Health Care Department at the Ministry of Health, said: “The Ministry started to cooperate with concerned departments to increase the psychiatric health services and understandings”.
At the concluding session, the conference announced the importance of increasing psychiatric training programs to all the primary healthcare employees in health centers in order to provide early screenings, positive reactions and capability to solve psychiatric problems.
Al Kuwari stated that the recommendations also include the cooperation with concerned departments inside and outside the ministry of health as well as other health authorities, Ministry of Education, Al Awqaf, Religious Affairs, Ministry of Social Sciences and Social Development Authority. At the end of the ceremony, the participants and sponsors of the conference were honored.
