FUJAIRAH — The Department of Inspection and Food Control of Fujairah Municipality, in collaboration with the Ministry of Education carried out an inspection campaign at the school canteens and food suppliers to schools, restaurants, cafeterias and bakeries, to ascertain the extent of its commitment to the health requirements.
The campaign is under the supervision of Assila Al Muala, head of the Department of Public Health of Fujairah Municipality who said: “The campaign aims to monitor these entities and the extent of its commitment to the health requirements in terms of hygiene.”
The official added: “Health inspectors take samples of food from the canteen suppliers and are sent to the laboratory to ensure their suitability for human consumption.” She stressed the need for workers to have proper work permits, wear proper attire, gloves and headwear.
