The event will take place on Feb. 4 and 5, Marghalani told Arab News. The meeting will be held under the slogan “Measurement of the health systems, the road for excellence.”
“We are aiming to unify or at least have similar health policies, actions and practices regarding many aspects of health care issues,” Marghalani said.
According to the spokesman, cooperation in this field will lead to equal health treatment policies for Gulf citizens and unifying the process of medicine purchase, among many other health benefits.
“We will also look into the possibility of raising the tariff on tobacco products, in particular cigarettes in the member states,” he pointed out, adding that this measure is only one among other efforts to form a joint Gulf health policy.
