The Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) showcased its entire range of rehabilitation services at the Community Resource Expo at the College of North Atlantic-Qatar (CNA-Q).
A multidisciplinary rehabilitation team from HMC participated in the expo, which is aimed at educating the students about the various community services and expertise being available for people in Qatar.
The team included physiotherapists, speech therapists, occupational therapists, prosthetics and orthotics, children and community based rehabilitation professionals.
“This is for the first time we are participating in the Community Resource Expo being organised by CNA-Q. It gave us a good opportunity to exhibit the various types of rehabilitation services being offered by HMC.
We also put up a special stand exhibiting various specialized rehabilitation equipments bought from various rehabilitation settings in HMC,” said Jiji Zafa, Occupational Therapist from HMC.
CNA-Q students, faculty members visiting the HMC stand were briefed about the latest technology being used in the process of rehabilitation. HMC professionals also highlighted the various community based rehabilitation services being offered for people with physical disabilities.
Speech Therapists were also in hand to explain to the participants about the speech disorders suffered by people, especially children and the latest technology being used to improve their communication.
