Sheikh Mohammed bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Director of Sharjah Medical District, opened today the first surgical conference of the International Iraqi Medical Association (IIMA).
The one-day medical event was organised by Sharjah Medical District in association with the University of Oregon in Sharjah.
Sheikh Mohammed said the event provides an ideal platform for sharing latest medical developments for upgrading the healthcare services.
Addressing the meeting, Dr. Ali Harjan, Founder of the International Iraqi Medical Association (IIMA), said participating surgeons would have the opportunity to exchange experiences and experiments with their Arab and foreign peers.
The conferees discussed advanced medical treatments for lung and stomach cancer and stomach reduction surgery.
IIMA is a professional medical organization concerned with the social and professional aspects of Iraqi physicians inside Iraq and abroad. IIMA is a non-government organization (NGO) registered with the United Nations.
It aims at facilitating social and professional communication between Iraqi physicians everywhere, raising awareness and increasing international exposure of Iraqi physicians and their contributions and services to the global medical profession and working and cooperating with prominent international scientific figures in the medical and healthcare industry.
