LAN, Specialists on Call to Deliver Telemedicine Service to Patients

Offering language services for limited English proficient, deaf and hard-of-hearing patient populations, Language Access Network has partnered with Specialists On Call, a call center solutions provider for patients, to deliver an innovative telemedicine service offering to hospitals.

Now, hospitals can offer critical clinical diagnosis along with communications services in the patient’s primary language, which improves financial performance and compliance and, more importantly, improves patient outcomes and satisfaction. Language Access Network understands the urgent needs faced by hospitals and patients.

LAN and SOC plan to address some of the nation’s critical health challenges with this agreement. This will help the hospitals to get rid of complete emergency call panels or in-house interpretation services.

“We are very excited to bring together two service suites that help address so many pain points for hospitals while providing such a significant return on their investment,” said James Edwards, CEO of Language Access Network.

“Timely intervention and proper communication lead to proper diagnoses reduced defensive medicine costs and more satisfactory visits for patients and providers alike. At the end of the day, both services help patients and save lives.”

LAN and SOC’s telemedicine services provide timely and cost effective solution for many emergency issues. Together, both the companies serve more than 100 hospital clients each and provide best-in-class service over unique, but compatible technology platforms. The patients will now get a truly multi-service line telemedicine platform, said Specialists On Call.

The solutions provided by LAN focus on meeting the needs of all stakeholders without compromising quality or ease of use. The customers will now get more than 170 languages available at the push of a button.

Recently, Memorial Hospital of Gardena signed an exclusive agreement with Language Access Network for video interpretation services. Since being acquired by Avanti Health System in early 2009, MHG has been focused on improving its clinical quality and service.

LAN’s introduction represents one of the many initiatives encapsulated in its broader performance improvement plan. MHG can now provide immediate access to more than 170 languages, including American Sign Language.
