Dubai – VLCC, the leading wellness brand in Middle East and South Asia, has launched exclusive health camps to fight obesity in the UAE. “Statistics show that obesity or being over-weight is the direct cause of 23 per cent of heart diseases across the globe,” says Prafull Dwivedi, CEO, VLCC International. When it comes to the heart especially, obesity can lead to a lot of diseases such as blockages in the heart, cardiac arrest and heart-attack. Diseases caused as a result of obesity also include diabetes, high cholesterol, high blood pressure and hypertension, which again have a direct impact on the heart,” he added.
