OncoEMR certified as Complete EHR by CCHIT

Altos Solutions, Inc. today announced that OncoEMR™ Version 2.6 is the first oncology-specific electronic medical record (EMR) to be certified as 2011/2012 compliant and was certified as a Complete EHR on November 11, 2010 by the Certification Commission for Health Information Technology (CCHIT®), an ONC-ATCB, in accordance with the applicable eligible provider certification criteria adopted by the Secretary of Health and Human Services.

The 2011/2012 criteria support the Stage 1 meaningful use measures required to qualify eligible providers and hospitals for funding under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA).

“We made a firm commitment to our customers that Altos Solutions would deliver the first ONC-ATCB certified oncology EMR. I’m thrilled to announce that today we accomplished that goal”

We believe oncologists using OncoEMR now have a significant advantage in receiving stimulus incentive dollars. To be eligible for ARRA incentive funding, eligible providers must use certified EHR technology and attest to meeting meaningful use measures for 90 consecutive days in 2011.

“We made a firm commitment to our customers that Altos Solutions would deliver the first ONC-ATCB certified oncology EMR. I’m thrilled to announce that today we accomplished that goal,” stated John T. Willey II, co-founder and chief architect of Altos Solutions, Inc. “The winners are our customers who are now the best positioned oncology practices to earn stimulus dollars. Not only is OncoEMR the first certified oncology-specific EMR, we also are the most comprehensive oncology-specific EMR. With e-prescribing, PQRI reporting, patient communications, and QOPI tracking, oncologists have meaningful use support integrated into OncoEMR.”

“OncoEMR has always been focused on delivering the tools for making an EMR a meaningful and integral part of customers’ practices,” observed Warren M. Dodge, president of Altos Solutions. “Becoming certified to meet the criteria that support meaningful use measures confirms our philosophy of continually building the most robust, flexible oncology EMR available. We will continue to enhance OncoEMR with tools to help customers track individual provider’s progress as well as the practice’s progress in meeting the meaningful use measures.”

OncoEMR will continue to be a leader in the changing meaningful use environment. As new requirements are announced in subsequent phases of the HITECH Act, OncoEMR customers will benefit from updates being made automatically to the application via the Internet by Altos.

Earlier this month, Altos Solutions launched a comprehensive education program for customers to ensure that they are fully conversant with using OncoEMR to meet meaningful use and incentive measures.

OncoEMR Version 2.6’s certification number is CC-1112-196440-1. ONC-ATCB 2011/2012 certification conferred by CCHIT does not represent an endorsement of the certified EHR technology by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services nor does it guarantee the receipt of incentive payments.

The clinical quality measures to which OncoEMR Version 2.6 has been certified include NQF 0421, NQF 0013, NQF 0028, NQF 0041, NQF 0024, and NQF 0038.

The ONC-ATCB 2011/2012 certification program tests and certifies that Complete EHRs meet all of the 2011/2012 criteria and EHR Modules meet one or more – but not all – of the criteria approved by the Secretary of Health and Human Services (HHS) for either eligible provider or hospital technology.
