Prince Naif to chair Anti-Narcotics National Committee today

Prince Naif Bin Abdul Aziz, Second Deputy Premier and Interior Minister, is scheduled to chair the meeting of the Anti-Narcotics National Committee in Riyadh on Saturday.

Prince Naif is expected to announce a number of preventive projects and programs which have been designed to protect society from the drug menace.

Dr. Mefrej Bin Saad Al-Qhabani, the committee’s Secretary General, said the presence of Prince Naif as chairman of the committee reflects his commitment to combat drugs in the Kingdom.

He said the committee has carried out a package of strategic and scientific studies and signed several memorandums of understanding with government agencies and national organizations to fight this scourge.

He said several businessmen are financing preventive, educational and therapeutic programs. The members will resume discussing issues which were raised at their second meeting last Ramadan.

The meeting will be attended by committee members including Prince Sultan Bin Fahd Bin Abdul Aziz, President of Youth Welfare; Prince Faisal Bin Abdullah, Minister of Education; Prince Muhammad Bin Naif Bin Abdul Aziz, Assistant Interior Minister for Security Affairs; Dr. Yousif Al-Othaimeen, Minister of Social Affairs; Dr. Abdul Aziz Al-Rabeah, Minister of Health; Dr. Abdul Aziz Khoja, Minister of Culture and Information; Dr. Ahmad Bin Muhammad Al-Salem, Undersecretary of the Interior Ministry; Saleh Al-Khelawi, Director General of Customs Administration and other members from the private sector.
