Saving Lives And Lowering The Risk Of Undiagnosed Obstructive Sleep Apnea Through Cloud-Based Technology

WM SleepCare, an affiliate of Watermark Medical, Inc., (“Watermark Medical”) is launching its comprehensive sleep benefits management program that offers insurance providers and self-insured employer groups an end-to-end Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA) program with utilization oversight and compliance management. This comprehensive sleep management solution will utilize the Watermark Medical cloud-based platform that improves work flow, integrates therapy alternatives, and significantly reduces the high cost of healthcare delivery.

“The Centers for Medicare Services (CMS) made it possible for insurance providers to offer home sleep testing. We quickly recognized the opportunity to build a sleep benefits management program with tight controls and utilization oversight, something the insurance industry is rapidly embracing”

Sleep disordered breathing affects more than 60 million Americans and OSA affects more than 25 million Americans, only 15 percent of which have been diagnosed, making OSA one of the largest undiagnosed disease states. “OSA is directly linked to obesity, diabetes, hypertension, heart diseases, and atrial fibrillation, the number one cause of strokes,” said Dr. Phil Westbrook, Chief Medical Officer of Watermark Medical.
