School staff taught to spot drug users

The Education Department in Al-Ahsa is holding Saturday an awareness training program for secondary and intermediate pupil counselor guides in how to spot drug addicts.

According to Al-Hayat Arabic daily, “How to Spot Drug Addicts and How to Handle Them” is presented by Abdullah Al-’Obaili, a member of the national anti-drugs committee and head of Riyadh’s Al-Amal Mental Health Hospital, and will help school staff identify drug users and provide them with the correct attention, and protect school pupils from drugs.

Ahmad Al-Ghunaim of Al-Ahsa Education Department said that efforts were being made to in schools to organize anti-drugs and anti-smoking awareness and protection programs. “The programs have had a great deal of success,” Al-Ghunaim said.
