Under the terms of the deal with Iraq’s Ministry of Health, the firm will supply some 100 hospitals with diagnostic equipment, including MRIs, mobile x-rays and mammography systems.
“One major result of this contract will be improved healthcare for all Iraqi people, and advanced breast cancer screening facilities for women in Iraq,” said Maurice Faber, vice president of Siemens Healthcare, Middle East.
Iraq has budgeted $3.8bn (AED13.95bn) to rebuild its healthcare sector this year.
