As part of its strategic partnership with Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC), Weill Cornell Medical College in Qatar (WCMC-Q) is taking part in HMC’s flagship project, Qatar Health 2010, the International Healthcare Congress and Exhibition.
Inaugurated on Friday at Doha Exhibition Center, Qatar Health 2010 covers several medical and scientific tracks, including basic science, primary healthcare, hematology, oncology, and radiology. WCMC-Q faculty will discuss their work advancing clinical care and biomedical research.
“WCMQ-Q shares the triple mission of Weill Cornell Medical College in New York: a dedication to excellence in education, patient care, and biomedical research; and it supports fulfilment of the vision of H H Sheikha Moza bint Nasser who aspires to create a true knowledge-based society in Qatar as a stepping stone to sustainable development,” said Dr Javaid Sheikh.
“The participation of WCMC-Q faculty and researchers at Qatar Health 2010 is additional evidence of our strong ties with Hamad Medical Corporation, our partner in educating future generations of doctors in Qatar,” he said.
“WCMC-Q conducts the same excellent teaching and research provided by Weill Cornell in New York. That’s why our students are deeply involved in clinical training and medical research, whether at our labs in Education City or at HMC hospitals.
In addition, WCMC-Q faculty participate in medical and scientific conferences in Qatar and abroad to share their research with colleagues all over the world. Qatar Health 2010 is an ideal platform for WCMC-Q faculty members to meet world-renowned experts and share their experiences,” Dr Sheikh adds.
