THE Muqabah Charity Fund yesterday donated eight wheelchairs for children’s use at the Salmaniya Medical Complex (SMC).
The donation was part of the fund’s Make a Child Happy campaign, under which toys and clothes were distributed to thousands of children on Eid Al Fitr last month.
Fund board of trustee president Ali Alzaki said that donating wheelchairs was a new concept being carried out by the fund.
“We bought the wheelchairs from cash donated to us to buy clothes and toys for Eid and since we have already met our target in both, we decided to come up with an innovative idea of buying something else for children,” he said.
“The fund still has some cash and we are planning to buy other things of use to children, but the board has to make selections and set priorities,” said Mr Alzaki.
