This weekend hundreds of Wilmington firefighters battled the heat, and hit the streets to raised money for kids living with Muscular Dystrophy.
Nearly two hundred firefighters were around the city participating in the Muscular Dystrophy Association’s ” Fill the Boot” campaign.
It’s some thing that firefighters in Wilmington have been doing for MDA for over 50 years.
Firefighter Daniel Bedford believes in the cause and is glad to help out.
“Firefighters have big hearts and we like to help out any way we can, and the firefighters have been helping muscular dystrophy for a long time, it’s a good cause and a good organization,” said Bedford.
They are expecting to raise around $8,000 dollars this year.
