Workers can use ID cards to access health services in Abu Nakhla

Single workers can access services of the newly-opened worker’s clinic in Abu Nakhla using their Qatari ID cards, said a senior official.

Workers are not required to produce health cards while seeking treatment at the facility, a local Arabic daily said yesterday quoting Dr Daoud Al Basti, manager of the new health centre.

The targeted group can also benefit from the low prices of medicine at the centre, which is on par with the prices at other health centres in the country.

The centre is currently getting about 280 visitors daily. The Supreme Council of Health has been repeatedly asking companies to utilise the services of the new centre to reduce the pressure on the Emergency Department at the Hamad Medical Corporation.

Al Basti said the new center was equipped with all the facilities including x-ray and laboratory to meet the requirements of the workers. It also provides emergency care along with socio-psychological support to the targeted group.

The clinics works in two shifts from 7 am to 2pm and from 4pm to 11pm on all days except Thursday.

A doctor will be available on call to meet emergency cases between 2pm and 4pm daily.

On Friday, the facility functions only in the morning from 7 am to 11am.
