Its president – Mr. Philip E. Davis in 1977, founded Emergency Ambulance Service, Inc. The company remains family owned and operated and has approximately 75 employees. Beginning with the very first call, prompt professional service has and continues to be first and foremost.
Choosing Brea, California as the city to locate its first office in, the company started service with two new ambulances. One ambulance was staffed on a 24-hour basis; the second ambulance was maintained as a backup unit. This management style of planning for future growth has always been employed at Emergency Ambulance Service. The company still maintains it’s corporate office in Brea, CA. The modern 11,000 square foot facility includes a state of the art communications center, training facility, medical supply depot, crew quarters, billing department and administrative offices.
Today, the company operates a fleet of modern type II and type III ambulances. Each of our ambulance units are individually designed and equipped in accordance with the company’s specifications to meet the needs of the communities they serve. Many units have special features required for the provision of 911 services such as Advanced Life Support cabinetry and outside storage compartments, while other ambulances are equipped with special features such as hydraulic lifts and compressed medical air required for inter-facility transports.
Emergency Ambulance Service provides Emergency Basic Life Support and Nurse-Staffed Critical Care Transportation throughout Los Angeles and Orange counties, and Advanced Life Support ambulance service throughout Los Angeles County from strategically located ambulance deployment centers. The company provides 911 primary emergency ambulance services to the cities of Brea, Placentia, and Yorba Linda. We also provide back up 911 ambulance service to several of our neighboring communities on a regular basis.
In order to manage its fleet, the company designed and built a new state of the art communications center at it’s corporate headquarters. This extremely sophisticated communications center is equipped with specialized communications equipment and systems that surpass the highest industry standards. Some of the cutting edge technology employed in our communications center includes a computer aided dispatch system, integrated communications consoles, automated vehicle locating and mapping systems, 911 display terminal, DSL internet connection at each dispatcher’s console, real-time freeway traffic monitors, Integrated CAD alpha-numeric paging and mobile data terminal messaging, a TDD telephone telecommunications device for the deaf, and a fax machine.
Our computer aided dispatching system is fully integrated with the company’s computerized billing system. This integration assists the company’s patient account representatives with accurately billing each patient’s insurance carrier by utilizing detailed data that is captured during the call intake and progression process. Emergency Ambulance Service is a Medicare and Medi-Cal certified provider and is contracted with each of the major Health Maintenance Organizations licensed in California, and regularly assists its patients by providing courtesy billing of patient claims to all insurance carriers.
