Botox use in anti wrinkle

Botox is the number one cosmetic procedure in the United states it was used for years in treatment of neurological in by ophthalmologists who noticed the effect on wrinkles.

It was approved 2002 by FDA for cosmetic use helping patients get rid of facial lines .
Botox is used for Variety of procedures including muscles spasms , Severe armpit perspiration , and as an anti wrinkle treatment for crow’s feet, frown lines and forhead lines .
Botox works by blocking the signal from the nerves to the muscles causing their paralysis , so the muscle can’t contract any more which prevents wrinkles from forming .

Results are usually evident within one week – 10 days following treatment, it usually reduces wrinkles by( 80 %) , results are temporary lasting from 3 to 5 months .

The Botox procedure is performed in the doctor’s office, usually without anesthesia, patient may experience some discomfort from needle injection. Selection of injection site is critical for success of procedure, and the doctor usually determine the amount of Botox needed.

Side effects include headache, nausea, redness at injection site, occasionally patient may experience eye lid drooping, which usually resolve within a few days to three weeks. Patients on aspirin and anti-inflammatory drugs should stop them few days before procedure to reduce bruising, Pregnant and breast feeding patients are not allowed to receive Botox.

There are alternative and additional treatment options for wrinkles which include different fillers, and sometimes surgical procedures such as facelift, and eyelid surgery
