International medical experts will be presenting at the Congress and the four-day event includes hand-on sessions, presentations and accreditation opportunities.
HRC 2010 is an educational event for members of the medical, allied professional and industry communities to increase their own and others’ knowledge in an open, interactive environment. The congress boasts a full programme of scientific sessions along with training courses, patient group conferences, recorded cases, industry sessions, a patients’ day and DoH and PCT meetings, with a trade exhibition running throughout.
The first day on Sunday 3rd October is dedicated to patients, with two heart charities, STARS (Blackouts Trust) and Atrial Fibrillation Association holding very popular sessions for patients and their families to learn more about the conditions and meet others in a similar position.
Professional sessions will include topics such as medical devices, diagnostics and advances in research treatments. One session is dedicated to Automated External Defibrillators and the experience of getting the life-saving devices installed within local communities.
One of the highlights of this year’s event will be an interactive session with the host of BBC Radio 4 programme ‘Any Questions?’ Jonathan Dimbleby, who will be joined on the panel by leading experts from the world of Atrial Fibrillation. The panel will receive questions from HRC delegates on the current and future management of AF.
