Ozone therapy has zero side effects

According to a renowned therapist, ozone-based therapy could be an effective option with zero side effects.

“Proving successful in complementary medicine, ozone therapy is gaining popularity among residents in Ajman and across the country,” said Dr Aziz Aziz, ozone therapist at Gulf Medical College (GMC) Hospital, Ajman, said.

Dr Aziz, who is also a professor at GMC, said since it was launched by the Ministry of Health in 2005, the hospital’s ozone therapy centre, the second after a centre in Dubai’s Rashid Hospital, has been the favourite hub of thousands of patients of different nationalities from the country and abroad.

“The Emiratis, followed by Egyptians, Iraqis, Syrians, Europeans and Asians prefer medical ozone therapy which has proved very effective in healing several diseases with zero side effects,” Dr Aziz told Khaleej Times.

Based on healing through knowledge and wisdom, medical ozone — which is a mixture of pure ozone and oxygen — is a therapeutic agent in prevention and complementary medicine. Added to this, Dr Aziz said medical ozone is very efficient in the inactivation of bacteria, viruses, fungi and protozoa. “Not only does medical ozone improve the immune system and blood circulation, it also activates cellular metabolism, and stimulates the production of anti-oxidative enzymes.”

Medical ozone can be used in treating exhaustion, arterial circulatory disorders, autoimmune diseases, complementary treatment for diabetes, cancer and viral diseases such as Hepatitis B, C and Herpes Zoster, he said.

“Medical ozone is also used in allergic conditions such as asthmatic bronchitis and eczema, external ulcers and skin lesions, diabetic foot and infected wounds, ulcerative colitis and proctitis, and obesity.”

Highlighting applications, Dr Aziz said medical ozone can be used as a major and minor autohemotherapy. “Local ozone treatment, rectal insufflation, as well as ozone sauna, bag and water are also applied.”

Medical ozone has no side effects if used properly. “Medical ozone is not used in hyperthyroidism, iron-deficiency anaemia, and hemorrhages,” he said.
