Kuwait to use foreign expertise to upgrade health sector

21st Jan 2010 Kuwait’s Minister of Health Dr. Hilal Al-Sayer affirmed on Wednesday keenness on using foreign expertise for upgrading the national health sector.

Al-Sayer, in a statement to KUNA following conclusion of a workshop on the economies of health and health insurance under sponsorship of the World Bank, affirmed that the health economies constitute some of the foundations of the health renovation, adopted by the ministry as part of the government work plan.
The ministry cooperation with the WB deals with the health insurance, assessment of the work of the ministry, upgrading communications among the ministry’s various sectors and updating the information.
The ministry has already mapped out short and long term plans to improve the health services in the country by means of developing the technical and administrative performance as well as tackling the defects and flaws.

Affirming keenness of the senior political leaders on supporting the health services, the minister said that the ministry would pursue the process of improving the services at al medical centers.
For his part, the ministry Undersecretary Dr. Ibrahim Al-Abdel Hadi said in remarks to KUNA the ministry plan is aimed at applying the health insurance system to cover all citizens in a manner that ensure that they get the best level of health services.
