Director of the Department, Khaled Al-Mahdi said during a seminar held on the sidelines of the Arab Handicapped Day, that the development of countries in the world are measured in terms of its care for the disabled persons, hoping that today would be an incentive to meet the challenges that prevent the development of services for this category.
Al-Mahdi thanked the Secretariat of the Arab League and the department of development and social policies for naming this day “the Arab Handicapped Day”.
Meanwhile, Head of education and training and employment of disabled persons in the Supreme Council for the Disabled, Mohammed Al-Mutairi, said that the disabled laws state that the country should provide them with medical services in the country and abroad.
Al-Mutairi added that the law also states that they should be provided with homes with certain specifications, in addition to rehabilitation centers, workshops, homes for the necessary cases and an allowance for those unable to work.
It is the second year for Kuwait to mark the Arab handicapped day, with a seminar and exhibitions for the products of the disabled and many other activities. — KUNA
