Qatar Health 2009 to be held in Doha from 12th December

Doha, November 20 More than 120 exhibitors from international health companies have registered for the ‘Qatar Health 2009’, the largest medical congress and exhibition in the Gulf region to be held from December 12–16.
 
Manufacturers and suppliers of medical equipment, associated products and services, nursing supplies, tele-medicine and healthcare information system suppliers as well as medical booksellers and healthcare software designers and retailers, are to participate, the Qatari daily Gulf-Times reported today.

Up to 500 exhibitors are expected to register for the event. The Qatar Health congress will be held in parallel with the exhibition from December 13 to 16 with medical and paramedic healthcare professionals gathering to discuss the latest developments, research and innovations under the umbrella of 12 medical divisions or ‘tracks’.

The congress programme features a mixture of plenary lectures, abstract presentations, discussions, debates and workshops interspersed with invaluable networking opportunities and personal interactions with exhibitors and medical sector pioneers. Speakers at the event to take place at the 10,000sqm Doha Exhibition Centre, will come from the US, the UK, Australia, Malaysia, Japan, Canada, Egypt and Germany. They will focus on different subjects comprising emergency medicine, rehabilitation and physical medicine, internal medicine, trauma, obstetrics and gynaecology, laboratory, disaster, surgery, psychiatry, paediatrics, radiology and pharmacy, the organisers QatarExpo said. Local speakers will also showcase the latest local developments and research findings as well as highlight individual expertise. In addition to a significant Qatari contribution, there will also be huge international involvement as medical equipment manufacturers from around the world will showcase their latest innovations.

The Qatar Health conference programme will present the latest information and research on new ideas, treatments and procedures in addition to the usual conference activities of lectures and abstract presentations, there will be a range of workshops running before, during and after the event.

In addition to formal lectures, there will also be abstract and poster presentations on the sidelines apart from a number of workshops by medical specialities
