Over 63 percent of the public said in an e-survey that they were not satisfied with the services at the Medical Commission (MC), while 23 percent believed the services were good and another 12 percent refrained in answering.
According to the survey results, MC services and check ups are modest and lack speed. The respondents also said that branches of the Medical Commission must be set up in different districts to ease overcrowding.
The public stressed the necessity that all housemaids and drivers must undergo medical examinations on the spot at arrival, saying that their medical check ups should not be delayed more than a week to avoid dangerous and infectious diseases.
Singles and expatriate workers should have their own medical commission centre in another place to improve MC services. Waiting lounges should also be expanded to meet the growing number of single expatriates. Signboards in different languages must also be installed inside MC to ban foreigners assembling in front of gates and parking lots, the public said.
