HHS recently announced it will offer a new contract aimed at reducing cyber security risks in Health IT as reported by Healthcare IT News
The contract is being offered to companies that already have a 2009 HHS program support centre task order. Companies that do not have a task order possibly could participate as subcontractors.
HHS officials said the contract will focus on relating health IT to the cyber security priorities outlined in a May 2009 White House report. The priorities include:
- Identity management;
- Incident response;
- Interagency cyber security cooperation;
- Raising public awareness;
- Research and development; and
- Strategic planning.
HHS said the contract also will help the agency develop future cyber security policies.
