The Emir of Asir Prince Faisal Bin Khaled has ordered the closure of 10 drinking water production plants in the province of Asir after the discovery of failures to meet health and safety standards.
Analyses showed that water produced by the plants was unfit for human consumption, while other criticisms cited disorganized work practices and standards.
The Emir ordered officials from the Ministry of Water, Asir Police and other security authorities to immediately oversee closures at plants in Al-Faihaa’, Al-Khuzama, Al-Ghalila, Al-Mujarada, Al-Namas, Khamis Mushayt, and others.
