GCC Health Ministers Council’s 63rd session of the 70th Conference will open here today titled “Donation and Organ Transplantation”.
A detailed report on the activities and achievements of the Executive Board of GCC Health Ministers Council will be discussed during the three-day conference apart from the follow-up of decisions and recommendations and recent updates related to the development of health services in the member states.
The conference agenda deals will several topics including cancer registry and prevention, anti-smoking, health awareness and media, organ transplantation, freeing Arab Peninsula of Malaria, united purchasing of pharmaceutical products, hospitals supplies, clothing supplies, oral and dental care supplies, medical laboratories’ supplies and blood transfusion services.
The conference will also address a system of adopting an integrated procurement tenders, central drug registration, pharmaceutical care, Executive Board’s budget, mutual fund, researches, financial state of the fund as well as the technical discussions on the organ transplantation program of GCC states.
Qatar will present a working paper entitled “Donation and Organ Transplantation” while Saudi Arabia will focus on organ transplantation in that country.
Supreme Council of Health has completed all the preparations for hosting the conference. Several activities will be organized on the occasion of the conference including the launching of a website on health education encyclopedia of GCC States and a series of stories entitled “my story is my health” in addition to handing out the gulf excellence awards in health media.
The members of the Executive Body of GCC Health Ministers’ Council will meet on today to discuss and prepare the agenda for the ministerial meeting to be on Thursday.
