Qatar Project Management (QPM) — one of the region’s premier project management companies and the first Qatari firm in the field of project management, held the region’s first ‘Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) in Construction Conference’ to enhance industry standards.
The event hosted local and international leaders from diverse industries who discussed ways to increase safety and safeguard the environment. This inaugural event was a collaboration between QPM and the leading construction magazine in the GCC, Construction Week.
The conference aimed to emphasise the importance of creating and implementing innovative HSE processes that deliver benefits for clients, contractors, and organisations.
The forum represented one of the largest gatherings of government agencies, contractors, developers, consultants, and leading technology and material providers. Over 200 delegates attended the forum representing 119 different companies that were interested in contributing to HSE advancement.
Speakers were selected from the UAE, Lebanon, Greece, Germany and UK as they have shaped the various sectors of HSE through legislation, risk management, engineering, and corporate governance.
“QPM’s commitment to placing leading HSE practices as a critical part of an organisation’s overall management strategy enables us to share our expertise while learning from other industry professionals,” said Nasser AbdulRahman Kamal, QPM’s Chief Executive Officer.
“Collaboration, advocacy and knowledge sharing are central to the forum, as these are tools that will help to improve HSE processes and deliver unprecedented efficiency.
As an industry, we need to create customised standards that will ensure that every project achieves the best possible HSE results. Our role is to embrace new strategies and spearhead the industry’s development,” he said.
Annual HSE awards recognising leaders who excel in HSE practices were introduced during the forum.
