Talha Ghouth of the National Society for Human Rights has said there have been “large failings” on the part of the Ministry of Health in bringing into effect royal orders concerning safety and security issues at hospitals.
Speaking following the return of baby Anas to his parents after a four-day abduction from Madina’s Maternity and Children’s Hospital, Ghouth said that hospitals required more security cameras providing high resolution images and improved security in terms of staff and training.
“There are also technological methods like the wristband devices that can be attached to babies from birth, which is a simple device that the ministry should be looking at,” Ghouth said.
“All that is aside from failings seen in administrative areas, and in the lack of sufficient nursing staff to follow patient cases, with admissions on the rise.”
