Chief minister Naveen Patnaik on Monday called upon the doctors to create a credible platform for use of telemedicine so that the patients belonging to poor families can get cured of many diseases without spending lot of money.
Inaugurating the 6th international conference on telemedicine organised by Indian Telemedicine Society here, Patnaik hoped that the system of telemedicine treatment would help the people of the state. He informed that the telemedicine treatment faciltities are now available in all district headquarter hospitals.
The telemedicine application of curing diseases started in 1964 in international level, but its use was known to be popular in 1990. The system was first adopted in our state in 2001 and the state government is taking all steps to make it reach to the people, the chief minister informed.
