A government hospital with state-of-the-art equipment and facilities will now provide quality treatment to the aam aadmi. The first modernized ESI Hospital was inaugurated on Saturday at Rajajinagar.
It is the first ESIC hospital where work of modernization and upgradation (first phase) has been completed. As part of the initiative for providing the best medical facilities in ESI hospitals and to compete with private hospitals, ESI Corporation has started upgrading and modernizing its existing hospitals, one of which is this state-of-the-art hospital at Rajajinagar. The ISO-certified ESIC Model Hospital will have a capacity of 500 beds.
In the first phase of the modernization, wards for orthopeadic, paediatrics, surgery, burn, plastic surgery, urology and OBG have been commissioned. Diagnostic facilities like CT scan/MRI, X-ray, ultrasound, pathology, microbiology and biochemistry are available.
Besides this, 12 operation theatres with modern facilities will be made available. The new building is centrally air-conditioned with latest medical equipment. The estimated cost for modernization of the model hospital is Rs 238 crore and first phase was done at Rs 110 crore.
