Academic Affairs (AA) Administration was established in King Fahad Hospital, Al-Baha in November 2007 as expansion of the Education and Training Department established with the hospital in November 1981. This translated the commitment of the hospital for continuous medical education and the increasing need for postgraduate training programs and conducting a well designed health education massage for Al-Baha Province.
The new venue of Academic Affairs Administration is located in front of buildings E & F in Hospital compound. It includes offices of all its component including Education & Training, Postgraduates & Research and Health Education. The administration is equipped with all facilities required for high quality arrangement of major educational events and conferences with publishing of variety of educational materials.
This same building hosts the main auditorium that is fully equipped with up to date audiovisual and immediate translation facilities with a capacity of 444 audience.
Other venues being used to carry out educational programs in the hospital include Prince Faisal Lectures Hall that is situated in the Ground Floor, adjacent to the Hospital Cafeteria with a capacity of 80 persons. It is equipped with modern AV facilities and is usually being used for in-hospital activities and mini-symposia.
There are also two Main Classrooms located in the Academic Affairs building each can take up to 35 candidate in addition to fully equipped classrooms in each one of the hospital major departments. In Addition, 4 Workshop rooms are available to improve capacity for simultaneous practical training courses.
The Hospital as a Training Institution:
King Fahad Hospital is not only an institution for medical care, but also it has a combined mission of providing medical education and training for all health care professionals in Al-Baha. This is achieved through providing regular programs accredited by the Saudi Commission of Health Specialties (SCFHS). Recently, and as an outcome of persistence and sincere commitment for its educational role, the hospital was accredited by the American Academy of Continuous Medical Education (AACME) as an educational centre and the Plaque of Recognition was received in September 2007. After this privilege, the hospital became one of the few centers accredited by this respectable international body in the Kingdom and the Whole Middle East.
King Fahad Hospital at Al-Baha is proud to be an institution with strong foundation for knowledge because of the wide range of specialties available in the field of medicine, nursing, paramedics and advanced technology. Students from different local and national medical and Health professional institutions receive their training in the hospital.
The 4 Major departments “G. Surgery, Internal Medicine, Pediatrics and Obstetrics and Gynecology are all accredited by SCFHS as training centers for Arab Board/Saudi Board training programs. You can find more details about these programs here.

The Academic Calendar is the product of the combined talents and initiative of the Education & Training Staff. It is consists of the whole year round educational and training activities titles and schedules which are made available for the information of those interested people.
Telemedicine / Video conference:
In collaboration with Health Outreach Office of King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Centre, Riyadh, this facility is made available to provide hospital staff with the opportunity to enjoy many of the kingdom wide and international activities broadcasted through this system.
