17th December 2009 DOHA: The tenth GCC Dermatology and Venereology Conference and Exhibition (GCC Derma 2009) opened here today. The three-day event is an educational opportunity for dermatologists and plastic surgeons in the Gulf and the Middle East, showcasing the latest in science and technology in the field through specialised exhibitions, lectures, courses and workshops.
H E Abdullah bin Khalid Al Qahtani, Minister of Public Health and the Secretary-General of the Supreme Council will open the conference at Doha Sheraton in the presence of Dr Omar Al Shiekh, Secretary-General, Pan Arab League of Dermatologists, Dr Abdul Wahab Fawzaan, Secretary General, League of Dermatologists of the GCC States and Dr Hassan Al Abdullah, President of the Conference.
The conference will address the latest issues like anti-ageing medicines and how to determine the real age of man as well as laser applications in treating some skin diseases such as Vitiligo and Psoriasis. A selection of elite Arab and international professors have been invited to participate in the event.
The scientific programme of the conference includes a range of themes and workshops. Skin Resurfacing, Skin Enhancement, Fat Aesthetic Treatments, Cosmetic Practice and Marketing will be some of the major topics to be brainstormed, and will include aesthetics and laser workshop.
