Muscat – Galfar Engineering and Contracting Company has been awarded a major contract of RO213.96mn for the construction of Royal Oman Police’s (ROP) new general hospital at airport heights, the company said in a filing to Muscat Securities Market (MSM).
“We are pleased to inform our esteemed shareholders and investors that Galfar Engineering and Contracting Co has been awarded the construction of ROP ‘s New General Hospital, BP 2, Package 1 at Airport Heights by ROP vide their letter of intent signed by the company for RO213.96mn,” Dr Hans Erlings, chief executive officer of Galfar Engineering and Contracting Co said in company filing.
The completion period of the contract is 1,095 days. “We expect reasonable income from this project,” added Erlings. The shares of Galfar Engineering and Contracting Co jumped by 5.92 per cent on Wednesday at MSM. This ROP hospital contract is second major project awarded to Galfar in December 2014. Earlier in December 2014, Tender Board awarded a RO64.96mn contract to Galfar for dualisation of Barka- Nakhal road project. In November 2014, the company was awarded RO28.03mn contract for dualisation of Nizwa-Ibri road (stage 2).
