In support of Breast Awareness Month, Siemens invited all its Frimley based employees to ‘wear it pink’ for a day during October 2009 and take part in a Breast Cancer Awareness Day to help beat the disease.
The Siemens Healthcare digital mammography trailer was on-site for the day, enabling all employees to see first hand some of the latest developments in breast screening technology and how Siemens’ solutions help in screening, early detection and diagnosis. A breast cancer survivor, who successfully fought against the disease, also came in to the headquarters to share her inspiring story with employees.
Siemens also teamed up with the Breast Cancer Campaign to deliver a number of fun activities throughout the day, including pink food specials in the staff restaurant, pink confectionary and a stall selling pink nail varnish, key rings and lipstick in support of the charity.
Andreas J Goss, Chief Executive, Siemens plc, said: “We are delighted to have teamed up with the Breast Cancer Campaign to help to raise vital funds for the charity. It is so important to help fund research into breast cancer, improve prevention and early diagnosis, as well as help the inspirational people that are fighting this disease now.”
