Director of Health Affairs in Jeddah Sami Badawood has ordered medical staff, including administrative employees, doctors and technicians, not to use professional titles or qualifications along with their names without official approval.
Qualifications must be authenticated by the Higher Education Department, the Saudi Commission for Medical Specializations or any other authorized department, he said. His order applies to government sector staff working in health centers in Jeddah.
“The Health Ministry has noticed, in spite of repeated orders, many staff members using unauthenticated professional titles and educational qualifications in violation of the code governing the behavior of health workers,” Badawood said in a statement on Monday.
